A Smashing Update

Last night was a very interesting one.

We drove to our neighboring city Cordoba to visit Sam's Club and purchase our refrigerator and stove. If you've ever purchased a new fridge you know how interesting it can be to get it into your house! Fortunately, we were able to get it in without much incident. However, it was after it was in that the fun began.....

Right now we have the trailer that we used to bring all our stuff parked in our driveway. Last night we decided to move it into the yard to free up the driveway. Sounds like a pretty easy task except that it has been raining everyday (and it was raining last night) so the grass is very soggy. Soggy grass makes an empty trailer feel like a loaded one.

We had to angle the trailer into the corner of the yard in order for it to fit. As we were pushing/pulling, somehow my finger got between the hitch and our concrete wall! The sound was frightening. The feeling was even worse!

We decided it was bad enough that I needed to visit a local clinic. The doctor gave me a shot to numb my hand but when he did my blood pressure dropped and I passed out. My blood pressure was reading 60 over something. If your unsure, that's REALLY bad! The doctor told Adolfo: "You need to get him to a hospital now." They carried me to the truck and we drove to the hospital.

I came to during the drive and was able to walk into the hospital. The doctor gave me two shots for the pain and took x-rays of my finger. The x-rays show a tiny crack in my finger but everything looks good and is in line. It will hurt for several weeks but it should be fine.

My first 5 days here in Mexico have been anything but unexciting! I'm just trying to get the full experience. =)

Thank you to all of those who've been faithfully praying for us! I'll be sure to keep you updated on my next exciting adventure.

P.S. I had to hen-peck as I typed this so sorry for any typos, ha ha.
